What to expect
Walking into a new church can be intimidating and at times terrifying depending on your previous church experience. If you are considering attending one of our worship services, we pray that you would take the vulnerable step and come check it out! We can't fully describe what you will experience, but at least we can try to give you an idea of what to expect.
On a Sunday morning you might see some people in a suit and tie, others in a t-shirt and shorts, and a lot of in between. We believe that God doesn't expect us to clean ourselves up before we come to him and his church; so we say, come as you are. Our worship services usually last around 60 minutes and include worship through music, the preaching of God's Word, prayer, and communion. We also periodically celebrate through believer's baptism.

Services
We offer two worship services; one at 8:30am and the other at 10:45am. Immediately following the first service, coffee and donuts in the lobby offer an opportunity to catch up with each other. Our services aren't strictly structured, meaning there is nothing you need to know or remember. If you have a Bible, bring it, but if you did not bring yours, or don’t have one, feel free to use the Bible underneath a nearby chair. In fact, if you do not have your own Bible already, take that one home as our gift to you.
Music
Our two services are very different, yet share one important element: inviting you to experience the presence of God in worship and challenging you to grow in the grace of God. Our 8:30am or "Classic Service" features more traditional elements including choir, organ, creeds, and hymns. We refer to our 10:45am as "Modern Worship" and it varies musically from a simple keyboard and guitar to a full worhip band.
Children
Midway through each of our services, we dismiss children to go upstairs for Children's Worship, a time of music and teaching just for kids in PreK4-3rd grade. At 9:45am we offer Discipleship Classes for kids of all ages. Our goal in both the classes and in Children's Worship is to teach kids the whole story of the Bible, with each lesson pointing to Jesus as the hero of the story. Nursery is available for our littlest kids, birth-4 years old. We also have a Family Worship Room for nursing mothers and crying infants, where they can still see and hear the service, but not have to worry about noise and privacy.
Messages
Our messages (sermons) are designed to point you to Jesus as the power of God for changed lives. We tend to run a series of sermons across several weeks, usually steadliy moving through individual books of the Bible. If you happen to come in the middle and want to catch up, feel free to download our past sermons (the button just below will take you to them). We primarily use the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible. We also celebrate The Lord's Supper (Communion) on the 1st Sunday of each month and also on special occasions. We do serve both red wine and white grape juice, as well as gluten free bread.
Offering
We take up an offering in every service. Our church is not centrally funded and the finances are the responsibility of church members. If you do not wish to contribute, just let the bag pass by. Many members arrange their giving via electronic means, so a significant portion of the congregation will not be putting anything in the bag. Our Beliefs
Covenant Life Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For an in-depth resource, read the Westminster Confession of Faith.
We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God in every word, completely without error in the original writings, and is the supreme and final authority in faith and in life.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and that his ministry is to reveal Jesus Christ to men. His work is to convict men of sin, to regenerate, indwell and set apart the believer to a holy life.
We believe that the hope of the Church of Jesus Christ is the reality of the imminent, personal return of her Lord and Savior. At that time, all who have accepted Christ as their Savior will be resurrected to eternal life and joy in the presence of God, but those who have rejected Christ will be resurrected to judgment and separation from God for all eternity.
We believe that God is both Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
We believe that all humanity - male and female - was created in the image of God, but man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. All human beings are born in this state and have a sinful nature.
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is a living, spiritual body of which Christ himself is the Head and is composed of all people everywhere, living and dead, who have trusted in Christ alone for salvation. The local church is a company of believers that come together for the purposes of worship, edification and service to the world.
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and is true God and true man. He died for our sins, was buried and was raised bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father and is our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe that salvation is entirely a free gift of God’s grace, acquired through personal faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners.
We believe the Presbyterian system of church government to be biblical. This means our church is voluntarily connected with and accountable to other congregations, and it means we are a church led by elected leaders who evidence biblical wisdom and maturity.
